Laddu is circle in hyderabad
While interviewing a candidate today I asked him the following puzzle
I have laddu of 4cm radius and I sell it for Rs.8; So if I make laddus of radius 2cm then what should be the price?
Candidate started solving the problem by drawing two circles on paper; and his answer was Rs 2. I asked him to explain his solution. His reply was genuine "Circle area is PI*r*r so when you make radius half it will be PI*r/2*r/2 so PI*r*r/4 implies 8/4 = Rs. 2 for the smaller laddu" Even though his answer was wrong his way of thinking was correct and hence I thought I will help him. "See Mr X you are thinking in the right way. But laddu is not a circle, its three dimensional. Tell me what is the shape of laddu". The candidate looked confused and after two minutes deep thinking he told me "But sir...laddu is circle in Hyderabad". I could not control my laugh...........:):):)
NB: Similar situation happened with another candidate and his answer was more funny. He told me with great confidence "My laddu is circle only...." :P
